Cataract
Cataract is the leading cause of bilateral blindness in India. It has been reported that Cataract is responsible for 50-80% of bilateral blindness in the country. Cataract formation is a natural part of the ageing process. Even though vision lost due to cataract can be restored through a simple and minor procedure, it still remains one of the significant causes of curable blindness.
Retina
We treat patients with Vitreo-retinal disorders such as Age-related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Detachment, Vitreo-macular Adhesion, Retinopathy of Pre-maturity, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Intraocular tumors, Severe Eye Trauma, and Diabetic Retinopathy. Our doctors are specialised in laser treatment of the Retina and sutureless Micro Incision Vitrectomy Surgery for all Surgical Retinal disorders.
Glaucoma
At Goutami, Glaucoma Screening is done for all patients. Dilated fundus examination and intraocular pressure measurement are part of the protocol of out-patient examination procedure.
